Performance Guide

Performance is important to us! With the vast amount of content on the server, we’ve optimized as much as possible, but a lot depends on your own settings. Here are the best ways to boost your FPS:

1. Use the x64 Branch

This is one of the biggest performance boosts you can get.

  • In Steam, right-click Garry’s ModPropertiesBetas.

  • Select x86-64 - Chromium + 64-bit binaries.

  • This can double your FPS in many cases.

2. Enable Multicore Rendering & Hardware Acceleration

  • When joining the server, you’ll be prompted to enable these.

  • Turn both ON for a significant FPS increase with no downside.

  • If you experience instability, try disabling them.

  • You can also disable the skybox for more FPS, but this will reduce visual quality.

  • If you want to open the menu again just type !fps

3. Optimize Spawn & Context Menu Settings

  • In the spawn menu, check under Options and Utilities on the right side.

  • Here you’ll find custom client settings (created by Zero) that can disable certain effects like the nightclub system to save FPS.

  • You can also adjust Photon lighting settings here.

4. Useful Vehicle Console Commands

Try adjusting these if you have issues with vehicles or crashes:

  • r_drawmodeldecals 0 — Use if you crash after shooting cars, or switch to the x64 branch.

  • r_rootlod 0 — Recommended; if cars look distorted, increase your Model Detail to High.

  • mat_specular 1 — Enables reflections on vehicles for better visuals.

  • mat_bumpmap 1 — Adds texture depth and is required for some reflection effects.

IMPORTANT: You must have your model and texture details set to high+ otherwise vehicles and certain models/textures will be distorted/weird.
